Random quotes from a week of Shannon:
"The worst part about musicals is the music."
"All I know (when asked about Africa) is that it's hot and there's a lot of black people."
(Later on, also about Africa): "Well, at least they have a Jamaican bobsled team!"

Everyone knows how to make a star by quickly scrawling 5 lines, right? Oh no, not Shannon. This, to me, is a basic life skill. The girl's elementary school teachers should be shot, and I won't even get into her spelling. So blissfully ignorant. Knowing only "What she needs to know". But that's why I love her.

Speaking of Shannon, remember when I had a girlfriend? She works days, I work evenings. We never see each other or talk. That makes me sad :(
Today, however, is my day off. And I also got $60 from the Government for being an upstanding, Canadian taxpayer. Perhaps an activity of some kind? Or maybe she'll just want to sleep. I suppose we'll see.

Woo eeeee. What a weekend. I'm just writing about it now because I've wanted to be able to sit down and get it all out at once. And I've been working a lot.

So this past weekend I took part in the Eastern Canadian Rugby Championships in Fredericton N.B. We left Thursday evening, and We spent Thursday night 5 to a room in the sleeziest, grossest, motel in the world (coach was going for economy). Anyways, after seeing my first firefly, having the shower handle come off in my hand, and sleeping on the floor, we set out and played two games on Friday. First we lost to NFLD, then to NS. NFLD sucked ass b/c we were winning at halftime and they came back to beat us. Anywho, we had an early night Friday night because we had two more games Saturday. The night was spent gambling where your humble narrator lost $30. JP ended up winning the $160 pot, which wasn't too bad b/c half of it was his money originally.

Saturday we lost both games (one we were leading at half again), so, feeling dejected, it was decided we would drink our faces off and worry about our 90 min consolation game Sunday when we got to it. This gets to a long story so I'll try to be brief.
-Texas mickey was appropriated by the team, I drank three shot of rum that were about half of a styrofoam cup each.
-Attended tournament BBQ, had a good (drunken) chat w/ several u-19 team members. Good chicken.
-Trip to liquor store. Purchased 8 pk of beer and sml. bottle of fireball.
-Drank/shotgunned/chugged 8 beer+2 more w/ u-19 PEI girls. Impressed all with my mad cartwheel skill. And Mr. Spencer Brown made for more than adequate drinking competion.
-Team walk to NS residence. Drank fireball in one drink. Promptly vomitted on NS patio. Life was threatened. Drank " a sickening chug" of straight long island ice tea. Kept that down.
-Remainder gets hazy. Memory flashes of a tourney line judge trying to get me home. I was found on the lawn of the UNB library. Flashes of the trip to the FPD drunk tank. where I spent the night.
-Woke up. Was released 8ish, took at cab home, then got ready for the previously mentioned 90 minute game, whuch I started two hours after my release.
-death
-Drive home. Began drinking more at Angie's where our team spent 4 hours+ and reckless amts. of $$
-Arrived home 11pm, drunk, cleaned out sicking mess in van. Went home.

That is how we play rugby.

Oh me, oh my. Fun weekend. Saturday I worked 9-5, then headed to Shan's family's camper and camped it up for the night. Sunday we went mini-golfing and swimming. Then after a brief retreat home, there was a pathetic attempt at some sort of sport resembling baseball. Said attempt was cut short due to my, Dwaine, and Chuck's rugby engagement. We played a good game, still lots of improving to do though. I have a sexy bruise from getting kneed in the eye, and Chuck's description of feeling like: "someone beat me with a bag of doorknobs" seems rather accurate. Now I have to get ready for work. I work today, then not again until next Monday, Yehaaa.

Holy recognition. I guess a whole wack of people know about this blog now. Props to the folks promoting me on their pages. I suppose it's a good thing, I just hope I don't censor myself to acccomodate this new-fangled notoriety.

So what's been new? Well, me and Shan are going back out. I'm happy with that, and starting to feel more like myself. Today was my second Rugby practice in three days, and I'm getting into pretty good shape. Here's where it gets fun though: Game tomorrow, game Sunday, Game Tuesday. Thursday night I go to Fredericton for Eastern Atlantics and play at least two more games. Hurray for dying. I should really take some before and after pics. Hopefully in the after pics I won't look like a black & blue blob. That's all for tonight sports fans, nighty night.

Righty-o. Moderately Good past few days. Sanity improving, eating more, sleeping more. Saturday was ok, Sunday rocked. I went to the drive in with Shan. Saw Daddy Day care, Charlie's Angels 2, and part of Hollywood homicide. All the movies sucked, but the company more than made up for that. Monday was work (till 12, eek), And Tuesday was CANADA DAY! Wooo! I got rather drunk and cruised around the waterfront with Chuck, Rob, and Josh. The night was spent in a drunken stupor with little vision (no contacts). Highlights include scareing the fuck out of child-spectators while rambling about god knows what, and asking random women if they liked it up the ass. I surpizingly recieved the reply "No, but I'm sure you do" only twice out of scores of opportunities. "Those ones are the keepers" I tell Chuck, wit makes the world go 'round. So on the last leg of my two wonderful days off. I prepare for a Rugby game. No trivia tonight, trivia=alcohol, and I am after all a finely tuned athletic machine.
